Chem shields

They are products which protect persons and objects from splashes of liquids...

...caused by the breakage of a seal in a flanged coupling, thanks to the placing of an impregnable barrier between the liquid flowing in the piping and the outside environment. Not only do they block the leaks, but they also serve for indicating and limiting them, and also diverting them temporarily hence preventing splashes.

In order to ensure such protection, the chem shields are made of special different materials which are resistant to the various chemical agents, depending on the operating conditions. When a leak occurs, the chem shield controls it by dissipating the pressure and allowing the liquid to drip on the ground without damage.

The chem shields should be selected in accordance with exact purchasing specifications which take into account the following factors:

  • type of liquid
  • temperature
  • exposure to atmospheric agents
  • type of closure

The materials are selected on the basis of these factors to manufacture the chem shields and determine their design form; the materials of construction of the chem shields are as follows: fabric based on glass fibres coated with PTFE, siliconated glass fabric, PTFE, FEP, PVC, PPL, viton or stainless steel.
These materials are compatible with most chemical agents and are able to meet all resistance requirements in terms of pressure and temperature. When necessary, the chem shields can be provided with leak indicators and drain tube

Applications:

Heat exchangers, flanges, metal and rubber expansion compensators, valves of all types, pressure vessels, pumps, clamps, special connections made to size, instruments.
