History

• Year 1986: established as Componit S.r.l. with the mission to supply the market with products made from materials other than asbestos. The first products were components for motor vehicle exhaust systems; shortly afterwards insulating pillows were added for gas turbine exhaust systems.
   
• Year 1987: production of textile expansion joints started.
   
• Year 1992: entry in the new factory based in Cirimido boasting of a floor space of 2700 sq.m. for production, and more than 400 sq.m. for the offices.
   

• Year 1994: Componit took part in major thermal and acoustic insulation projects for the pipeline supplying gas from Siberia to Italy.
   
• Year 2003: New Componit S.r.l. was created under a new company structure focusing on textile products: textile expansion joints and insulating pillows.
   
• Year 2006: New Componit started to develop insulating manufacts for fire protection.
   

• Year 2008: New Componit install the first smart joint: SMARFLEX
